Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture(ICAMA) is the national authority responsible for pesticide registration and supervision hich was firstly established in 1963 and is directly affiliated to Ministry of Agriculture of P. R. China. Main responsibilities of ICAMA are pesticide registration, quality control, bioassay, residue monitoring, law enforcement, information exchange and co-operation. There are about 100 staff members now, and over 95% of them are professional personnel. It owns laboratories of more than 4000 square meter, which are well equipped with advanced instruments, such as HPLC-MS, GC-MS, etc, and are capable to do various tests of pesticide. ICAMA is also the National center for the Pesticide Quality and residue supervision & test.

Since its establishment, especially during past 20 years after reformation and opening to the outside world, ICAMA has made great achievements in pesticide management with supports of Ministry ofAgriculture.

Has drafted and facilitated to implement Regulation on Pesticide Administration,the first regulation governing pesticide in China.

Has been gradually perfecting pesticide registration institution which accords with practical situation in China and international rules.

Has built up the system of pesticide tests and management.
